Rakuten Symphony is looking for a seasoned Technical Writer to be part of our vibrant telecom startup. As a Technical Writer, you will produce high-quality documentation and content for Rakuten Symphony products.
Responsibilities:
- Author and update complete product documentation (user guides, manuals, release notes, API documentation, and FAQs).
- Document CLI, UI, and API documentation using RST and Markdown.
- Develop modular documentation and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prescribe uniform usage of terminology, style, and layout in all documents.
- Validate existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and completeness, and revise as needed to capture product improvements and updates.
- Collaborate with development engineers, QA engineers, and subject-matter experts to research and validate information and ensure technical correctness of documents.
- Investigate and analyze to comprehend involved technical concepts and document them in a clear, concise manner.
- Develop clear, concise, and user-friendly content that is suitable for different audiences such as end-users, developers, and administrators.
Qualification/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, or technical writing certification.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a startup environment.
- Familiarity with technical writing standards, principles, and best practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey complicated technical information in a simple and straightforward form.
- Ability to document in RST and Markdown.
- Understanding of markup languages, i.e., XML and DITA.
- Version control system experience using Git.
- Understanding of software development practices.
- Capability to work autonomously, handle multiple priorities, and accomplish deadlines in a high-speed, dynamic startup ecosystem.
- Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional groups and stakeholders.
- Fundamentals of data storage, Kubernetes, networking, and APIs.
