Job Overview: A motivated technical writer is sought by SoftClouds LLC to join our product team. This role focuses on creating and managing documentation for our software products, should possess strong writing skills and technical knowledge to produce clear, user-friendly content that enhances the user experience and translates complex concepts into accessible language for clients and internal teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain user manuals, help articles, and technical documentation for software products.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to gather detailed information.
- Develop clear, concise content tailored for diverse user audiences.
- Review and revise existing documentation to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevance.
- Gather user feedback consistently to enhance documentation quality and usability.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute to content strategy discussions.
- Train internal teams on effective use of documentation tools and resources.
- Represent the documentation team in meetings and strategy sessions.
- Monitor competitor documentation to ensure our content remains competitive.
- Use version control systems to manage and track documentation updates.
- Ensure all content adheres to branding and style guidelines consistently.
- Assist in creating Product Marketing assets such as blogs, datasheets, and videos.
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer on Software Engineering products.
- Excellent written communication skills is must.
- Proven ability to create clear and effective technical documentation.
- A solid understanding of software design processes and related methodologies.
- Proficient in documentation tools.
- Familiarity with Knowledge Management practices and documentation systems.
- Experience in writing user manuals, API documentation, and technical product documentation.
- Experience gathering user feedback to drive content improvements and updates.
- Good communication skills to facilitate the simplification of complex technical concepts.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality standards.
- Experience using version control systems like Git for documentation management.
- Knowledge of current industry documentation standards and best practices.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset with a passion for learning.
Preferred/Desired:
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Certification in technical writing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of CRM, Enterprise search, and AI platforms is preferred.
Education: Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, or Computer Science/Engineering.
