There is a vacancy for the Technical Writer 2 (Senior Technical Writer) position in the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. The task of this position is to develop and modify technical procedures and manuals for internal and external customer use as a reference. This role will be working from Bangalore and will closely collaborate with the Engineering & Cross functional teams of global regions of Lam Research such as USA & Asia.
CSBG primarily concentrates on adding value to customers across the product life cycle through Spares, Upgrades, and Services to optimize customer capital assets’ value.
Job Responsibilities
- Creating and revising technical procedures and manuals for internal and external customer use
- Work with engineers and core writing team to complete procedures with Microsoft Word, guaranteeing content completeness, accuracy, and timely submission
- Develop product manuals in Content Management System (CMS)
- Excellent organization abilities and attention to detail with teamwork
- Collect data/draft from engineering sources, review information for accuracy and completeness, and integrate it into procedures
- Handoff package acceptance from content engineering and fulfilling a CMS integration according to the agreed and dedicated deadlines (internal and external)
- CMS DITA/XML editing, conversion, translation, and adding media to produce a publication
- Attend and participate in content team meetings and submit status and plan for future deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or Journalism
- Note: Any other degree (e.g., an Engineering degree) is fine but strong writing skills are a must.
- (Bachelor of Engineer (Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Electrical) with 2 Yrs. Exp. In Technical Writing)
- Strong English language skills (This is a MUST have.)
- Work experience in MS Word, MS Excel, SnagIt or equivalent software tool & Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent editing and writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skill
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Good communication and presentation skills
